Our sharing table with Marion and Ali at the last PLANT to PLATE workshop was equally a feast for the eyes (and tested by Marion’s family) as being just as delicious as previous presented meals. The focus is always about flavour and as mentioned by an attendee the colourful array of dishes always grabs your attention.
We are so visual with our food choices – for sure the fresher the vegetables and herbs the more intensity and clarity of flavours and the more we are satisfied and nourished. Possibly having less wastage of food on our plates. Everyone contributed with their own favourite and not so favoured ingredients.
It may take a while to realise that we can be sensitive to certain foods, so, taking this into consideration for next month’s recipes. Our wise body’s never let us down in sharing what we can consume and what we should avoid eating. The temptation to give in is often there and can have painful consequences, but with Marion’s growing cooking skills we can together come up with some amazing recipes using seasonal veg/herbs/spices.
Putting together 10 delicious dishes for this session from those back of the cupboard forgotten ingredients, all could be served as a main dish or side accompaniment or as a healthy snack. Ali was able to share what’s on the plant/veggie list at the Community Garden. Everyone is welcome to go along and investigate and may be inspired what is virtually (a stone’s throw away) on their doorstep.
We both look forward to sharing with you again at our table in August, any questions or recipe suggestions please do not hesitate to contact Marion on marion@cooklightly.co.uk. The foods that Marion cook are all gluten free, refined sugar free and dairy free. You can tweak these recipes to suit your dietary needs in most cases.
Marion will be joining Ali at the Community garden in Tayport during different times. Come and say hello bringing your bags to stock up on those amazing fresh veg/fruits/herbs.
The next online PLANT to PLATE cooking workshop will be on Sunday 22nd of August from 2-3pm. Register in advance for this session here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
