PLANT have just been awarded another year’s funding from Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund allowing us to continue developing our new Tayport Community Garden and associated activities (read about all 2016 CCF projects here).

So we are delighted to be able to invite applications for three part-time positions supporting our project: Community gardener, Volunteer co-ordinator and Blog co-ordinator. All of them are temporary until 31 March 2017. More details below.

Community gardener

20 hours flexibly over 3-4 days per week, including weekends.

Salary:  £25,000.00 (pro rata)

A key role in the continuing development of PLANT’S new Community Garden at Pond Lane Tayport, and of its gardening skills training programme.

Subject to PVG check.

Volunteer co-ordinator

18 hours flexibly over 3-4 days per week, including weekends.

Salary:  £25,000.00 (pro rata)

Responsible for engaging and supporting volunteers for the Community Garden, organising volunteer training and liaising with community groups.

Subject to PVG check.

Blog co-ordinator

1 day per week (7.5 hours) over 40 weeks (temporary post until 31/3/17)

Sessional post @ £14.67 per hour

Responsible for enhancing the blog as a sustainable community asset, co-ordination of technical support, ensuring regular content updates and building a community of bloggers.

All post holders will ensure that all activities reflect inclusive and low carbon principles.

People Learning About Nature in Tayport (PLANT) is a Tayport Community Trust subgroup which works to achieve TCT’s overall aim of promoting a vibrant and sustainable community, with improved quality of life, specifically through projects involving growing food and flowers, while enhancing Tayport’s natural environment.
