It is almost time for our next gardening workshop! This one will be about harvesting, preparing and storing your own seeds. Perfect timing as everybody is getting ready to harvest the last of this year’s vegetables.
It will take place at the Scout Hut on Elizabeth Street but please note that this time it is scheduled for Thursday 24th of September, 7-9pm instead of the usual Sunday.
Our growing coordinators, Teresa and Andrew Widd, will provide practical training on:
- When and how to collect seeds
- Which seeds to save, which plants are best propagated by seeds
- Where to store seeds and how long to store saved seeds
Bring along your own tomatoes, pumpkins, cucumbers and learn how to save the seed.
There will also be time to share your own seed saving experience and ask for personalised expert advice.
The workshop is suitable for all skills levels and ages, with children especially welcome.
PLANT committee has now agreed on the monthly workshop schedule for the remainder of this year. Details of all workshops – past and future – can be found on this page. Please let us know if you have other ideas for workshop topics! Brief notes are included for past events in case you missed the workshop itself or need a refresher.
We would like to reach as many people as possible – you can help us by spreading the word by sharing this information on social media or printing out and displaying the poster.
