Warning – our pollinators are disappearing! Click to play the video below to find out more:
Plants need pollinators to produce seeds and we need them to produce our food. But pollinating insects have started vanishing from our landscapes because over the last 40 years we have been destroying habitats where they can feed, shelter and nest. Recently, the effects of climate change have made the situation even worse.
The good news is that we can make a real difference for pollinators really close to home – in our gardens and green spaces. Join our quest to find out how to bee a pollinator friendly gardener.
Grab a quest map and worksheet from the Garden staff and explore the trail at the Tayport Community Garden to find our gardening tips (you can also download it here as a PDF).
Scan the QR codes at the back of each quest station to find more information. You can use a free QR scanner on your phone or tablet or borrow the Garden iPad. You need an internet connection to use the QR codes – if you don’t have a connection on your device, ask one of the Garden staff for our wi-fi password.Save
