Kiss The Ground movie screening and discussion @ Tayport - online

World Soil Day celebrates the importance of our soils for healthy food, flood prevention, tackling climate and biodiversity emergencies.

Join us for an online screening of a new and exciting “Kiss the ground” documentary and a discussion with three local experts to give us an insight into the wonderful life of soil and how we can help its regeneration here in Scotland:

– Peter and Kirsty Christopher, PLANT Community Gardeners and horticulturists with over 30 years gardening experience, will talk about how the regenerative methods can be applied at our Tayport Community Garden and in growing food at home.

– Dr Jennifer Brown, a soil expert from Ecological Department of James Hutton Institute, will provide a perspective on how regenerative farming can be applied in Scottish and UK agriculture. https://www.hutton.ac.uk/staff/jennifer-brown

The discussion will be interactive with plenty of time to talk to other participants as well as a chance to ask experts questions.

This online event will have 2 separate parts:

Movie screening – watch anytime for free on Vimeo between Sunday 23 November and 7pm 26th of November

An interactive discussion on Zoom – 7-8pm, Thursday, November 26th

We would love it if you could join us for both!

Details on how to join will be sent out with your registration email.

If you have any trouble joining either part of the event, please get in touch with Kaska on blog@tayportgarden.org.

About the movie

Kiss the Ground is a new uplifting and inspiring documentary narrated by Woody Harrelson that sheds light on a new, old approach to farming called “regenerative agriculture” that has the potential to balance our climate, replenish our vast water supplies, and feed the world.
