Saying goodbye to the Cafe Garden

By 20th September 2016March 8th, 2020No Comments

Sadly the summer of 2016 will be the last one in which PLANT volunteers look after beds in the garden behind Harbour Café.  This small project has been supplying fresh salads, vegetables, herbs and lovely strawberries to the café – not to mention sweet peas.  For various practical reasons (including snails!), everyone concerned has decided that the project will now close.

A very big thank-you to our excellent team of volunteer Café gardeners, Ian, Hester and Hilary, who have given their time on Tuesday mornings.  Their hard work, considerable skills and good humour have been much appreciated, and they have kept the garden to a most professional standard, despite some of the horticultural challenges.

We are also very grateful to all residents at No 10 Broad St for allowing us to cultivate the beds.  We hope that you continue to enjoy the garden in future.
