A photo of a truss of tomatoes

First ripe tomato at the Community Garden polytunnel, August 2016

We are working to reduce Tayport’s carbon emissions by growing more food locally, which cuts food miles. For example, why buy Spanish tomatoes when it is possible to grow them at the Community Garden site in Pond Lane or in your own backyard? You also save on travel costs and time!

We would love to support you in getting involved in growing more vegetables, fruit and salads either at Home or at the Tayport Community Garden. If you do not have time or space for the gardening yourself, you can still help the planet and please your taste buds by taking advantage of our tasty seasonal and local produce – for sales information click here.
